I finally got to see this exhibit on Thursday and was quite amazed at how busy it was. School holidays contributed but this was light years ahead of Blackpool. something immediately apparent and alarming is the fact many of the exhibits are not protected and are basically free to touch despite signs asking you not to! This I found quite amazingly irresponsible and begged the question & doubt as to whether they are replica or (see picture for an example) were damaged in transit to the exhibit.... [glow=red,2,300] Here's a close up of a damaged Slitheen Hand[/glow].... Nontheless it's a very memorable event and highly recommended, much better than Blackpool and a lot more relevant with all the new series props and free photography. There is a shop there with a healthy WHO stock and I was delighted to get my sought after Cyberman Bubblebath - superb model. I also found my equally sought after 'spinomatic' game though by god if that isn't the most generic and utterly boring packaging design... There is a souveneir ruler at £1.25, a Keyring in little poch for £3.50 & ouside the entrance is a 'Penny-press' where you place a penny plus 50p charge and it presses the penny flat and stamps an 'Up-Close' design on it! I only had one 50p piece on me though ...

As time goes by the exhibits are becoming more and more worn.
Some of Exhibits are made purely for the Exhibition and have never seen the T. V. the Dalek is a prime Example!
How ever I have seen people measuring this Dalek and taking it for gospel the results they get well this Dalek is a special build and the dimensions are Exhibit dimensions not the BEEB Dalek Dimensions.
The Exhibition is still very good and we hope will be exteneded in to 2008. Promise of Tardis console room prop (Exhibition Version) but nothing as yet is definite. Chris E.

All the exhibition Daleks and the TV Daleks are from the same moulds (there's two sets taken from the same master plug), the only difference is the neck mesh that was used varies somewhat as does the weathering and a few of the bolt details... oh, and the amount of battering they receive when being trundled about from exhibition to exhibition.
As for the console room that's on it's way in your general direction, I'm guessing it's the one used in the kid's TV programme on Welsh telly a couple of years ago. It's almost a half sized console with bits taken from the original moulds, with a set of mock up walls. It's been doing the rounds lately at various "BBC Day" events, so it could be this that'll find a home up there.

I am speaking at a conference in Manchester on 16 November. Does anyone know if there is a serious possibility the Exhibition might be extended? I would really like to go but had assumed it would definately be finished. I keep my fingers crossed!! Richard

like a lot of things various patching up quick repairs and doing the rounds these sertainly resemble there screen used counterparts
(Minus few exceptions like specificaly made K9 and half size console room etc) but not exatly like the one off the telly but given the amount of time to acurately mesure up and take referance from these props a quick 10 min aint enough realy
Nice to see them nice to get so close but as for being 100% accurate ,i prefer to say exhibition prop and bbc prop after all mesureing the real thing there is no substitue
some are screen used props but not all
these props are made for the exhibiton the props on tv are made for tv this could mean all sorts of differance from colour to finish except the actual TV props
