From a company called Cards inc. these resin busts retail for around £30 each and initially I thought that was way too much, but then i was assuming they were a continuation of the Heads Up busts that were on the market in the 90s and also went for about £20-25. Those were only about 3" in height but the new Cards Inc. busts are twice that and with more weight & substance.
Three have been released thus far - Jabe from only the 2nd episode of new WHO, A Cyberman & a slitheen. The detailing and likenesses are exquisite and top quality, the trim of Jabes collar and the detailing of her 'hair' are very fine while the Cyberman is suitably symetrical and solid looking. The Slitheen is depicted scowling and is pretty intimidating! A fine set of pointed teeth cap off the effect but the drawback is that due to the size & shape of the head & neck it is a bit of a topheavy piece .
Now that i've seen them £30 is in my opinion quite fair a price for the size and quality of what you get.
As noted the old Heads up busts were half the size and almost the same price and even Product Enteerprises brief output of 6" statuettes in the 90s were about the same price so considering that these are a good deal more sizable and of such high professionalism I have no hesitation in giving them the full five stars!
Excellent and recomended.
Perhaps another gripe though - the boxing and marketing make clear these are Limited Edition, but what is the production run?! No certificate or numbering so no way to know...
Check out the detail...
And for a little size comparison
