Ravensburger are doing some very nice things with their range of Doctor Who jigsaws. Of course a jigsaw is a jigsaw, but their designs are gorgeous and of course the more complex you can make them, the harder the jigsaw is to do. They have two types available. First is a simple 100 piece puzzle for younger kids. The new version has Series 3 characters featured from the Judoon to the Weeping Angels and is a bright and impressive collage. The second type is a 1000 piece puzzle for those who like more of a challenge. This one is also lovely, and I liked the inclusion of several Daleks as they make it harder to do the puzzle. It would perhaps be nice to see a 'mega hard' puzzle with an army of Daleks pictured ... something really challenging like the ones which picture nothing but a spread of baked beans or smarties and the like. It's also really nice to see Doctor Who featured on jigsaws again as there was a fear that this toy format might be dying in the wake of more electronic and online pleasures. However Ravensburger seem to be showing that puzzlemaking is still going strong.
