This is not a full review as I have not read it all.
This year's annual is massive improvement on recent efforts and is now an excellent example of what an annual should be. It has been expanded to 96 pages, a number not seen since the early 70s, and is not just full of padding and pointless quizzes. There are many informative and well written articles on past adventures, profiles of companions and monsters and articles on key characters such as Davros and the Doctor's Daughter. There is even a breakdown of Sarah Jane Adventures' stories and characters. There are three comic strips and two text stories, written by long established Doctor Who authors. The rest of the annual has poster style pictures and some puzzles.
A lot of care and effort seems to have gone into this annual, perhaps reflecting its best-seller status. If I was 12 years old this would be top of my Christmas stocking fillers.
